2014 will be the best year for the Albany County Bar Association’s 20th Law Day Run!!  It will be held on May 1st at the Crossings of Colonie, with the starting gun going off at 6:30.  While you have a little time to plan, we are looking for volunteers and committee members now – we want this to be the best Run ever!!!  Interested, please contact Barbara Davis at bdavis@albanycountybar.com.




 The Albany County Bar Association is currently recruiting for the position of Administrative Assistant for its office located in Albany, New York. The Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of highly responsible tasks to support the essential daily functions of the Albany County Bar Association.


Responsibilities include front desk reception, including multi-line phone and greeting visitors; general bookkeeping and accounting tasks; supervising interns; scheduling and assisting with board and committee meetings, special events, and continuing legal education sessions; maintaining accurate membership and referral data bases; updating and maintaining website; working closely with membership to deliver services; and other administrative duties as assigned. Successful candidates will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, be a self-starter, and be able to work independently and confidently on projects from start to finish.


Bachelor’s degree preferred; with a minimum of three years of increasingly responsible administrative duties required. Qualified candidates must have the ability to meet deadlines: communicate clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences; be willing to work outside normal 9-5 hours as required; and show a desire to anticipate and meet the needs of the membership and the Association as a whole. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and WordPerfect is required. A background in CMS website building software and database technology is preferred.
